Boann Madeira Finished Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey A new Irish Whiskey distillery with it’s first whiskey of the stills. Boann is located in Drogheda, Co. Meath. Every raw ingredient sourced is 100% natural and 100% local. Every drop of water is drawn from their Boyne Valley well. Every grain of barley is provided by our native farmers. The single pot still is comprised of a mixed mash bill distillate which included malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye Initially, matured in ex-Bourbon Barrels from the famed Brown Forman of Kentucky. Boann sourced some of vintage Madeira casks of Tinta Negro (1998 & 2000), Boal (1999) and Sercial (1999, 2000 & 2006) Madeira Colheita wine single varietals. All casks were formally 350ltr Cognac casks made from (Quercus Robur) French Oak. These Madeira wines ranged from Sweet to Medium to Dry, offering a wide depth and breadth of the terroir of the volcanic island of Madeira. The bourbon matured pot still was then finished in these Madeira casks. 70cl 47%
