Suitable for Vorton 500, Bioforce 250 and Bioforce 500 pond filters. 5 Watt PLS UV Germicidal Bulb contain a very small amount of mercury which with the gas inside the lamp emit the bacteria killing light. Never look directly at a UV lamp when it is on as will damage your eyes. The effective life of a replacement lamp is approx 8000 hours, after this point it will seem to be working but in fact the effectiveness of the lamp will be decreasing. Changing a bulb twice annually will usually be good enough to maintain the filter light unit. We stock all types made with quartz glass material for effective transmission of the light wave. Designed to be suitable as the original lamp bought with the pond UV Filter. Spent UV bulbs should be disposed as with accordance with state and national laws. Never placed directly into the domestic trash system due to the mercury element within the UV lamp.
