We use thorough and advanced laser cutting procedures to get your Corten steel cylinder pond made by highly trained and expert craftsmen and fabricators. This guarantees precise accuracy on even our most custom-made ponds. We precisely size and shape the Corten sheet metal according to your requirements. Your cylinder pond will be wholly unique from any other because each pond is constructed to order, resulting in a fully unique handcrafted procedure.  Our Corten steel cylinder ponds feature a double-folded return top lip. This means your pond will be of much higher quality, showcase a premium finish, and have unbelievable durability and strength. We also fully seam-weld the corners and connecting sides, both inside and outside of our square ponds and smooth out the welds, enabling a watertight and seamless finish. You won’t be able to notice them at all! What is my garden cylinder pond made of? Your garden cylinder pond will be made from 100% authentic Corten steel. COR stands for corrosion resistance and TEN represents its high, tensile strength. All garden ponds from Weather It are made from 3mm thick Corten steel as standard, with the option for the pond to be delivered throughout various stages of the weathering process.  Corten steel is used across a wide range of industries and has gained recognition among the public thanks to several architectural structures. The steel is primarily composed of iron and carbon and includes alloying elements such as nickel, copper, chromium and phosphorous, enabling the steel’s self-protecting properties. That’s right, Corten steel can naturally repair itself if scratched or damaged. It’s made to last.  Over the course of 2 to 12 months, the Corten steel will change from its initial appearance of ordinary, grey, high-grade steel to a stunning patina that includes autumnal tones of orange, brown and red. Not only will your cylinder pond be uniquely made by us, but the patina it acquires will also differ depending on the environment and weather in the location where it is put. Your cylinder pond will be delivered already having started the weathering process. How will my cylinder pond be delivered? We offer a reliable network of couriers that will happily deliver your Corten cylinder pond right to your door. There will be a waiting period because we create each cylinder pond by hand, but don’t worry – we work incredibly hard to guarantee low lead times so you can start enjoying your garden cylinder pond as soon as possible.  Offloading must be done on your site if your pond is larger than 2 metres. If you don’t have offloading, kindly get in touch with us so that we may provide you with a quote and set up delivery by Moffat or crane. Ponds that are smaller than 2 metres will be transported by tail lift. You can feel secure knowing where your deliveries are in transit and when they will arrive thanks to every delivery being tracked.  How do I maintain my Corten steel cylinder pond? Thanks to the amazing properties of Corten steel, no maintenance is required! Simply place down, fill it with water, and enjoy. Ponds are very heavy when filled, so it is important that you prepare sufficient foundations/ footings to place your pond on. How do I fill my pond? When your Corten steel cylinder pond arrives, it will be ready for you to fill. You can use collected rainwater which is an eco-friendly option to fill your pond. Other alternatives include collecting water from streams and wells. However, if tap water is your only option or water from a hose pipe, we recommend filling buckets with this water first and waiting 24 hours for the chlorine to dissipate. Want to add another element to your water feature? Weather It offers a full range of water pumps and fountains to add that wow factor to your pond. Additional available options also include hidden LED lighting that keep your pond looking exquisite during the night.  Other things to note When the cylinder pond is exposed to rain and other moisture like sea spray during the weathering process, the patina will ‘run off’ and stain the surrounding region.
